Selling Lacazette? That's a fool's act Unai!

Well, you usually use that name for a certain Bosnian left-back, but it’s more because of his build than anything else. But if there was someone from Arsenal squad whom you can picturize when thinking about the tag “beast”, it has to be Alexandre Lacazette, his never say die attitude is rare in this squad. He’s been through his highs and lows since signing for the North London club from his boyhood club Marseille for a reported fee around 50m. But at last, it seems now he’s has become a true Gooner. He hasn’t shown his prolific best yet, but he has proved he’s worthy enough of dawning the legendary No.9 shirt of Arsenal, that was once represented by another Frenchman who went by Thierry Henry, someone who went on to score 175 goals and apparently he also have his statute at the Emirates stadium, the home of Arsenal, sounds like big shoes to fill huh? Well if Lacazette plays for Arsenal till the end of his career, then he may not match his records, but surely he will make some history, something which Arsenal have been deprived of since the early 2000s.

Lacazette, The Beast
Though one must admit that his stay at the Emirates have been exactly fascinating, the Agueros and Kanes have made sure that he hasn't been able to top the scoring charts in his first season. And then came the January, and from the moment Pierre Emerick Aubameyang, another prolific striker who’s been constantly amongst the goals for the Gunners, set his foot on English land, it almost seemed Lacazette was going to play under the shadow of the Gabion international. But as the season grew, the difference between the two strikers was getting clear, while Aubameyang was this pacy frontman who just knew how to be at the right place and at the right time, all he really needs is an opening and he will make you pay, but Lacazette was different, he isn’t a poacher like Aubameyang, he’s a more modern-day Trequartista, who would go deep in the midfield to receive the ball nor would he mind pressing the opponents hard.

He's Been A Real Warrior
Something Arsenal Needed From Their No.9 For Years

He’s a real warrior on the pitch, you would find him being stubborn inside the box, doing everything he can to score the goal himself, which sometimes can look selfish, but at some moments you do want your striker to be selfish because he’s the one who’s the best at finishing. Something we enjoyed, against Liverpool in their 1-1 draw again the Gunners, A stunning sole goal from the Frenchman in the game which marked Arsenal early resurgence under Unai Emery, which has arguably faded away.

Alexandre Lacazette under Unai Emery has grown from a doubtful substitute to an important first-team member, which can be credited to his attitude again. Emery loves a dynamic hardworking hungry footballer who can run his heart out for him, something Lacazette provides him with and a certain Mesut Ozil doesn’t, hence their contrasting play time under the Spanish man.
But I won’t say Emery’s alone in getting impressed with the 27-year-old’s passion, we’ll love to see him get angry after being subbed off undeservingly, or his frustration when the team loses. That just shows his love and passion for the game, for the team and the great club he plays for. And a special mention for his comradery with strike partner Pierre Emerick Aubameyang, which has got Arsenal fans go gaga over the two and let's accept it, we included.

The Auba-Laca Partnership Has Been Lethal For Arsenal This Season

With reports of Arsenal pondering over selling Lacazette in summer to free up funds for the much-needed rebuilding of the squad, we can only hope that good sense prevails for the ones in charge of the club and we can halt Arsenal’s recent record of unfortunate departures.
