Is It All Mesut Ozil's Fault?

“You’re no coach...”, Mesut Ozil reportedly told something on the similar lines to Unai Emery after Arsenal’s embarrassing Europa League defeat. And no wonders, the rumours have surfaced that he is already been placed on the transfer list by the club, and this comes as no shock as the Europa league final incident was only a final nail in the coffin which was already half buried with relations between the German playmaker and Unai Emery hasn't been rosy, to say the least, since his arrival at the Emirates.

Ozil is reportedly on his way out of Emirates

It’s not easy to judge who’s the culprit for this divorce of an already mismatched marriage between a player, who had an unquestionably high stature at the club and a manager, who has faced enough issues with star player’s stature at his former club. And to be honest, I don’t intend to figure out the culprit, anyway. I just wanna present a picture of a player who is about to leave the club he once called his “home”.

Is it really the end of Ozil at Arsenal?

Looking back at this year, Mesut Özil was arguably forced to retire from playing for his National team, he had his entire nation going hostile after him, he had a manager who didn’t trust his abilities, he was left from the playing squad for “tactical reasons” on various occasions. People were waiting for him to call it a day on his Arsenal career, he was even getting offers to end his misery at the Emirates. Every time he stepped on the pitch, people were (still are) waiting to judge him as a “fake” player on social media for every defensive mistake he makes, for every pass he misplaces, for every chance they thought he should have created, for every goal they think he should have scored. But does he actually deserves all that criticism that he receives virtually every day, I know it’s his fault, but is it ALL his fault?

Is it all Mesut Ozil's fault?

I haven’t written this blog to defend the German playmaker, I have written this to spark a debate, “Is It All Mesut Özil’s Fault?”. It’s high time to debate on this because maybe the winter has come for Mesut Ozil at Arsenal, so if it’s late now then it would be never.
