Would Emery Trust Ozil On the Road?

Ozil have had a disappointing season before a recent upsurge in form

Now Mesut Özil has been one of the better performing players for Arsenal in the last few weeks or should I say months. But that has mostly been on Arsenal’s home soil, The Emirates. Now I know this has been repeated several times whenever we talk about Ozil’s future at Arsenal, but the fact whether Emery has the confidence in Ozil to play the more “physically demanding” games or not is going to be a key aspect in deciding whether he’s gonna be at Arsenal come the next season. He showed the confidence in him against Manchester United, a difficult game, as they say, which usually sees Mesut Ozil benched but he not only started it but he was an integral part of the Arsenal setup while also putting in a hardworking shift throughout the game, a rare site for the classy German.

Ozil benched has become a usual site in this season

A match against Everton isn’t the most daunting imagination, but considering the current circumstances, in which even a small slip can result in exclusion from the coveted top-four spot. And more than anything, for god’s sake, we just can’t afford to be behind Spurs again. So it’s a tricky fixture for Emery, who has been “realistic” about Arsenal’s chances for a top-four spot, if he puts Mkhitaryan and Iwobi behind the strikers/striker and drop last match’s MOTM, with Arsenal ending up lacking creativity in the final third, he would be bound to face criticism. And if he plays Ozil, and we conceded goals while our attacking players/player are not seen to be tracking back, resulting in a loss then maybe Emery may not be subjected to the most lethal criticism, because, well everyone knows who will be the scapegoat when Mesut Ozil is playing in a match which Arsenal’s losses. But still, he knows the value of a win/loss for Arsenal under current circumstances so it will be interesting to see what Unai has up his sleeves.

He's Unai Emery's man?

But for all the cries of putting him on the bench for issues related to his work rate, or rather the lack of it, there’s voice deep inside which says, “He’s Mesut Ozil yaarrr!”, He’s too good to be on the bench. He’s the Ranbir Kapoor of the football, no matter how bad the outcome maybe, you know he will give you moments to remember.

"I just don't think you understand...."

And for all those you don't know, Ranbir Kapoor is a Bollywood actor.
